Karelia and Nepenthe are ready for the trick-or-treaters tomorrow evening, with their Halloween colors and all.  (If only we could have them hand out candy for us, right?)

Here we go, “winter” wonderland in October.  It’s not the first October snowstorm I’ve experienced during my time in Colorado.  In 2002, I managed to get stuck on four-hour bus commute when roads became icy, then snow-packed.
Even though we have 14 inches of snow (estimated by the husband) here at home and probably a foot [...]

Here I am, a cat purring at my side.
Bears kitty (also known as Nepenthe) and I were previously watching the snow fall outside as well as sniffing the air to catch a whiff of the roast slowly cooking away in the crock pot.
Now she’s sleeping and I’m watching the Bears make fools of themselves, now [...]

The grand return…just in time for Halloween season and pictures of “Halloween-themed” cats….

Perl enjoys being held.  Can’t you tell by that look on her face?

For the first time in quite awhile, I feel like our house is truly our home.  So much pride has been cultivated from the installation of hardwood floors in our living, dining, and family rooms.  We will strive to avoid the disarray these rooms previously had fallen into.

Though at first there was some apprehension,

Meeting Scott and Amy for the first time in person after years of communicating online.
Getting to know them past what you see on their blogs.
Meeting other interesting people who work for and with the American Heart Association for their program “Heart of Diabetes“, a program to remind and educate people with type 2 diabetes about [...]

For the fourth time in less than three months, I’m headed out to the airport.  This one’s a quick trip, an overnight to Dallas for reasons I shall explain later this week.
For now, let’s just say that I expect good company for a good cause while I put Texas on my states visited list.  And [...]

With the way life is filled to the brim these days with obligations towards everything and everyone, I am grateful for Days of Grace and Show and Tell to get in some blog posts.  Even if they aren’t filled to the brim with content.
Since beginning Days of Grace only two weeks ago, I find myself [...]

Let’s face it.  Summer cooking is boring.  Even though we hardly had a true summer here in the Denver area, I hardly did any of our cooking.  The husband did most of it, with plenty of eating out or ordering in, too.
With the fall weather settling in, I start thinking about the crock pot (lamb [...]

One of our favorite places to visit.
One of the places we will seek a home should we ever win the lottery or start writing enough Great American novels (me) and Great Science Fiction novels (the husband) to live in our dream home(s).
It’s the Oregon coast.  This particular picture was taken near Newport in September 2004. [...]
