1. Meeting Scott and Amy for the first time in person after years of communicating online.
  2. Getting to know them past what you see on their blogs.
  3. Meeting other interesting people who work for and with the American Heart Association for their program “Heart of Diabetes“, a program to remind and educate people with type 2 diabetes about their risk of heart disease.
  4. Visiting Texas for the first time, other than a couple stops at DFW.
  5. Surviving the cab ride from Love Field to the hotel.
  6. Being offered a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival at the hotel, even though, you know, I have type 2 diabetes.  Because, you know, I hadn’t eaten since 10 am Mountain Time and it was almost 4 pm central time.   And that scary cab ride…
  7. Talking in hotel lobbies.  (A lot of that these days…)
  8. Grateful to Amy for putting my name out there for this cause that means a lot to me and my family.
  9. Not having to go to work for two days and grateful for them allowing me the time off to participate in something like this.
  10. Excited over another d-blogger pal’s pregnancy announcement.  :)

You didn’t happen to stay at the Hotel Lawrence did you? :) It was the cookie thing that drove me to ask :)

  2. Thanks Rachel, it was very awesome to finally meet you in person too!

:) Remember, next time we’re out in WI, we’ll make a stop in the MSP area.
