World Diabetes Day
14Nov07
Across the world, from Sydney westward to San Francisco, famous (and not-so-famous) buildings are being lit blue this evening in honor of the first UN-recognized World Diabetes Day.
Prevention of type 2 diabetes and minimizing complications of those with diabetes (both type 1 and type 2) are the important points that the International Diabetes Foundation is making today. Even if a cure was found tomorrow for either type, it would take quite a bit of effort to distribute the cure to everyone in the world, so prevention and education are just as important.

Have a great WDD, Rachel, and you are absolutely right about education. With the international attention we are getting today, we cannot forget that part of our job tomorrow is to educate as many people as we can about diabetes.
