Even better, Desert Dingo Racing has partnered with the International Diabetes Foundation to raise funds for that organization with its 1969 VW Beetle. The drive-a-thon will take place during the 40th annual Baja 1000 desert race from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas. Oh, and yeah, the race just happens to fall the week of World Diabetes Day.

With two team members living with type 2 and the knowledge that Mexico is experiencing a crisis with the disease, I applaud the efforts by Desert Dingo Racing. You can follow their training races along with the live race via their blog and Twitter stream.
